The holy Bible begins with God’s enlightenment in a grand depiction that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”Metamorphosing between visible and invisible, the Spirit of God is manifested in a variety of forms, as the blazing “fire” represents the true form of the visual description of Holy Spirit. It is not only a reflection of God’s absolute holiness and righteousness, but also a special token for God’s covenant with his children. It is symbolic of the glory of God’s judgment too holy to be beheld, while shedding light on the fact that only after going through the trial by fire could we aspire to be worthy of the crown of life.God manifested himself unto Moses in the flame of the burning bush. The fiery presence of Holy Spirit is a source of guidance and protection. It is on such enlightenment and covenant that mankind’s survival and deliverance are predicated."I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” said John the Baptist. When the fire of Holy Spirit indwells our body and burns within us, our soul is reanimated and our heart thumps with solace, as the power of God cleanses us off utile resistance, despondency and disobedience; our extremities are, as it were, being energized and brought back to life. When it blazes up within us, we are imbued with the divine power. Our very existence is invigorated and our mission revitalized under the divine influence of the fiery presence of Holy Spirit.

This work is inspired by a dream of the designer, in which the Holy Spirit with a halo, representing love in Christianity, descends on our world and fills us with gratefulness and love. Holy Spirit is not something to be experienced. Instead, it is a medium, through which a man can experience a new life. Our experience of gratefulness through the Holy Spirit is an embodiment of divine transcendence and immanence, which enables us to both realize and experience the divinity.The realm of God is boundless and unlimited, like a ring full of tension, expanding wide and far into a space of various dimensions. Centering around the ring is the whole world, visible or not, that stretches endlessly and in which innumerous changes occur. The light from the Holy Spirit, carrying the mercy and grace of the God, is shed down like rain. The holiness, freedom and elegance of the shape, along with the invoked feeling of ethereal poignancy, capture the greatest imagination of the beholders about their faiths and spirits. The color is scarlet by choice due to its strong visual impacts, symbolizing that the Son of God gives his red blood for the redemption of human beings and the reconciliation between God and his creation.The whole work is a design of spiritual body, a symbol of life, with the theme based on an image that is invisible and intangible yet able to be sensed.

The consciousness of modern society is in a state of constant flux and interminable conflict, and at its root is driven by individuals self-interest and personal desires .These desires and ideas originate in the brain but are expressed through language, and the organ of language is the mouth. Therefore, the source of societal，and even global conflict is occurred by the mouth-words which are the source of calamity. Every person, every race and every country wishes to express its views and opinions. Yet since no side is willing to make concessions, modern society is permeated by a calamitous caco-phony, which disperses and spreads into every corner of life. Living Mouths uses human heads and mouths agape in anger, illuminated by frantically flashing lights, and set to a score of shockingly violent, piercing taser shots in an attempt to show the anxieties, insanities and conflicts that engulf modern society.
